A Few Examples of my Polaroid Image & Emulsion Transfers
The initial Polaroids are made from slides utilizing a DayLab Enlarger loaded with Polaroid 669 or 679 pack film. The Image Transfers are made by rubbing the back of the Polaroid's peel-apart negative onto a receptor surface before the dyes have a chance to migrate to the positive. The Emulsion Transfers are made by first placing the Polaroid picture into very hot water (about 200 degrees) for a few minutes, then immediately into cold water, whereupon the emulsion is "lifted" off its backing by pushing it with your thumbs and the resulting malleable image (while still in the water) is placed and shaped onto a receptor surface such as watercolor paper.
